Es riecht nach altem Holz. Auf dem Tisch liegt ein Buch. Thomas macht die Taschenlampe an. Er öffnet das Buch. Es ist eine alte Karte von den Bergen. Neben der Karte liegt ein kleiner, silberner Kompass.
Plötzlich hört Thomas ein Geräusch draußen. Er schaut aus dem Fenster. Alles ist voller Nebel. Thomas nimmt den Kompass und das Buch. Er packt sie in seinen Rucksack. Dann läuft er schnell zurück ins Dorf. Das Abenteuer war spannend!

The Secret of the Small Cabin

Thomas goes into the forest. He has a backpack with him. In the backpack is a bottle of water and a small flashlight. An old man says, “Don’t go into the forest! The weather is bad.” But Thomas does not listen. He loves adventures.
The path is long and steep. Everywhere are green trees and brown stones. The wind blows cold. Suddenly it begins to rain. Thomas gets wet.
Then he sees a house. It is an old cabin made of wood. The door is open. Thomas walks slowly into the dark house.
It smells of old wood. On the table lies a book. Thomas turns on his flashlight. He opens the book. It is an old map of the mountains. Next to the map lies a small, silver compass.
Suddenly Thomas hears a noise outside. He looks out the window. Everything is full of fog. Thomas takes the compass and the book. He packs them into his backpack. Then he runs quickly back to the village. The adventure was exciting!
