The Big Day on the Sea
Saturday morning is finally here. Lena packs her things: a life jacket, some water, and a banana. Today she is going on a sea kayaking tour. The weather is perfect. The sun is shining, and the wind is blowing only very gently. Her kayak in a nice blue color is waiting on the beach. It glistens in the sun.
Lena puts on her life jacket and carefully gets into the boat. The water is calm, but cold. She takes the double paddle and pushes off. At first, the boat wobbles a bit. Lena takes a deep breath and quickly finds the right rhythm. Left, right, left, right. The paddle glides quietly through the blue water.
She paddles out onto the open sea. The waves get a little bigger, but Lena is not afraid. She enjoys the feeling of freedom. After half an hour, she sees a small, deserted island. She wants to take a short break there.
On the island, she sits down on a warm stone. She eats her banana and listens to the sound of the waves. Not a single person is here, only a few seagulls are flying in the sky. After the break, Lena gets back into her kayak. The way back is easy because the wind is gently pushing her toward the coast. When she arrives back at the beach, she is a little tired, but very happy. That was a real adventure!
